I own and manage the salon. I do all of the retail product purchasing. I also manage our eBay store CASEY'S CARGO where we sell our closeout and discontinued items. I work at my home office and still work part time behind the chair on my longtime established clients, taking only a few walk-ins and new clients. I am certified in Matrix Optismooth and have completee trainint in Simply Smooth Brazilian Keratin Treatment. Enjoy and Matrix are the haircolor that I prefer and use.

 

I became interested in doing hair in high school, when I would style my friends hair for proms and graduations. This interest lead to a career as a stylist. My first position was at Wigs International in Oakland, CA, where I fitted and styled wigs and hairpieces. I then moved to Grand Wigs in Oakland, CA. I received my State Board of Cosmetology Wig Styling License in 1972.

My career path next lead me to Villa de Bella in El Cerrito, CA where I worked styling wigs and hairpieces. Later, under the new name of The Hair Experience, I apprenticed under hair stylist Tom Vicencio, and earned my Cosmetology License in 1974.

My next position was with a salon in El Cerrito, CA. by the name of Denises Attitude as an independent contractor.

Three years later, in 1981, Tom and I became business partners. We opened Hot Heads salon in El Cerrito, CA, and had a thriving business for 18 years at that location.

We sold Hot Heads in 1999, and purchased a salon in Orinda in order to work closer to home and enjoy the many benefits that our community has to offer. We remodeled the space, and reopened under the name SALON ELEGANTE.

I am delighted to be a salon owner in the community in which I live. I enjoy having the opportunity to share my many years of expertise and varied experience to help my clients look and feel their very best.
